Jim was diagnosed with stage four oesophageal cancer. Three years on, Jim is still here.
Throughout his journey, his family has been at the heart of everything, giving him a reason to keep going and make the most of every moment.
Living with cancer has been frightening, but Jim has also found strength through the people around him and the Team Solan Warrior community.
“Cancer can make you feel like you’re no longer human, especially during treatment. Being part of the charity’s ‘Warrior’ community has been vital. Talking to others who understand what you’re going through makes all the difference.”
“Team Solan has helped us stay positive, provided practical support, and created a sense of community that we so desperately needed.”

“Living with cancer, for me, is one of the scariest feelings, especially when I know that my cancer cannot be cured. I live with that thought everyday. And yet, most days, I also live with a lot of happiness. In fact, I’ve had a lot of happy memories while facing the hardest time of my life.”
Three years after being told he could have just months to live, Jim continues to make memories with his family and show the incredible power of hope, love and community.
